Cup in Hand Kickball Leagues will begin play on Friday Julne 11th. All games will be played at the Softball Complex on Rohlwing Rd. Cup in Hand Kickball is a spin on kickball where all players will be required to play with a drink in hand (does not have to be alcoholic). 12 beers per team will be provided each game. It will be BYOB after that. Players are expected to DRINK RESPONSIBLY. Players must be 21+ to participate. IDs will be checked each game.

The 24th Annual Tournament will be held the weekend after ItascaFest! Enter a team of three or four to compete in this 3on3 double-elimination tournament. Youth teams will be divided into boy’s and girl’s divisions according to age when possible. Adult teams may have a different format due to the number of teams. Awards will be given to 1st and 2nd place of each division. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and drinks during the tournament.

Learn about the eating habits of the owls living at Springbrook Nature Center. Do you know what an owl pellet is? Owls usually swallow their prey whole, and they regurgitate what they cannot digest. See the various owls we have, the kind of food they eat, and dissect a pellet to see if we can figure out from the bones what the prey was. Anyone 8 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult. Practices and Games
Itasca Inter-Village Soccer plays in the Mid Suburban Soccer League other districts included are Addison, Bensenville, Bloomingdale, Glendale Heights, Medinah, Roselle, Villa Park and Wood Dale. Practices are once or twice per week with practice days and times at the discretion of the coach. Games will be played on Saturdays April 17-June 12. No games will be played on Memorial Day Weekend. Time and location of games will determined by league schedules which will be determined no later than Friday, April 9.

Uniforms
All players must wear an Itasca Park District uniform. Uniforms must be purchased at the time of Registration. A sample of all sizes will be available at the registration desk. A complete uniform consists of a jersey, shorts, socks, shin guards and soccer shoes.

Equipment
All participants are required to wear shin guards underneath their socks at all practices and games. Players must bring a soccer ball to practice each day.
U6 & U8 will need to have a Size 3 ball; U10 will need to purchase a Size 4 ball, while U12 and U14 will need a Size 5 ball.

Coaches
The Itasca Park District Soccer League is extremely popular and has a large number of participants and teams. Without our fantastic volunteer coaches we would be unable to offer such a wonderful program. The park district is currently looking for parents or adults to volunteer as a coach or an assistant coach. Please indicate on your child's registration form if you are interested in coaching.

Spring soccer will be playing with a new format in accordance with the US Youth Soccer organization. Smaller fields and teams will allow for players to achieve the following: to touch the soccer ball more often which will enhance their individual technique and tactical development, receive more individual teaching time with their coach, receive more involved playing time in games, and most importantly to have more opportunities to score to enhance excitement. Enjoy tennis and golf in this exciting class. Your child learns forehand and backhand strokes, proper grip, net play, court movement, and other beginning tennis techniques. Boys and girls receive golf swing instruction for all aspects of the game including full swing, pitching, chipping, and putting. Creative drills and games played in a non-competitive and safe environment make this a super-fun camp for young golfers and tennis players. Equipment will be provided. (DF)

Whether you want to make a basketball team or just improve your fundamentals, this class is for you! Boys and girls will develop fundamental offensive skills including footwork, ball handling, passing, setting screens, and shooting. Defensive concepts such as stance work, man-to-man, zone, boxing out, and rebounding will also be introduced. Player instincts and quickness are enhanced through individual ball work, team situational drills and various game situations. Players improve their fundamental skills, knowledge of the game, and understanding of how to become a better basketball player individually and as a team. (DF)

This class has been developed for students who are ready for an additional day of learning or for those who could benefit from more individualized attention in a small class setting. This program will enhance the curriculum being taught in the Itasca Park District T/TH classes. It includes theme based STEM activities, instructive busy bags, independent math packs, and alphabet readiness curriculum. Students will use the outdoor facilities at the Nature Center each day to extend what has been learned in the classroom.

511404 - Jn Kind Enrich 2021-22 (5 Day)

Combine our Enrichment Program with our Junior Kindergarten class to help make the transition to full-day five day Kindergarten a little easier next year. This class has been developed for students who are ready for an additional day of learning or for those who could benefit from more individualized attention in a small class setting. This program will enhance the curriculum being taught in the Itasca Park District M/W/F classes. It includes theme based STEM activities along with pre-reading and math skills in a Kindergarten readiness curriculum. Students will use the outdoor facilities at the Nature Center each day to extend what has been learned in the classroom.

531400 - Junior Naturalist Club

Do you want to learn more about nature and how we can help protect it? Maybe you like to fish, canoe, hike, camp, and roast marshmallows. If this sounds exciting, you should become a Junior Naturalist (JN). The JN club is a group of kids that love to have a good time and help out. The JNs explore, hike, work special events and restoration projects, take care of the animals in the building and much more! This club meets once a week, usually on Fridays at the Nature Center. A newsletter with dates, times, activities and other important information is provided.

610103 - Junior Kindergarten 2020-21

Registration is only accepted in person during regular business hours at the Itasca Recreation Center.

*Pre-Registration begins Saturday, Jan 18
8am: returning Park District Residents and siblings
10am: returning non-residents and siblings.

*Pre-registration for 2020-2021 Preschool and Jr. Kindergarten programs will be allowed for those currently enrolled in the Itasca Park District Tiny Tikes or Preschool Programs. Current students will receive pre-registration information in class.

Open Registration begins Monday, Jan 27th after the Open House session at 6:30pm
(Park District Residents followed by Non-Residents)

Registration Requirements:
* First Payment (All Students)
* Proof of Residency, i.e. Driver’s License or utility bill (Returning and New Students)
* Copy of Birth Certificate (All New Students)
* School Physical (Due by October 15 for Jr. Kindergarten students new to our program and all Preschool students)

All of our Early Childhood Education classes follow the Itasca School District #10 calendar for holidays and weather related closings.

There is a $75 cancellation fee for withdrawing from this class.
