    131600 - Teen Weight Training

    Teens 11-13 years of age may become a fitness member after completing a 2-hour Teen Weight Training Class. The class covers injury prevention, proper concentration of each muscle group, breathing , and lifting techniques. Proper warm-up and cardiovascular conditioning is also covered. Upon completion of this class, the teen will need to purchase their One-Year Fitness Membership to be an active Fitness Member. The fee for the membership is $67/$77.

    Our girls gymnastics team is in its 32nd year. We participate in USAG levels 4-10 and also the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). We compete in local meets as well as out of state; our girls consistently qualify to the State and Regional meets. Participation on this team is by invitation only.     212101 - U6 Micro Soccer

    Micro Soccer is a scaled-down version of the game of soccer specifically designed for young children. Children will play 3 vs. 3 on a smaller soccer field. Coaches are allowed on the field and no score is kept. This program is geared toward children who have mastered Pee Wee Soccer, yet are not old enough to join the Itasca Inter-Village Soccer League. Each team will practice a minimum of one day per week. Games will be played each Saturday with surrounding Park Districts. Players need to wear shin guards and bring a size three (3) ball to each practice and game. Please indicate on your registration form if you are interested in coaching. *Fee includes jersey. (SD)

    This class will help you land babysitting jobs and make you feel confident to babysit. This medically accurate babysitting training program will prepare young adolescents for the responsibilities of nurturing and protecting children. The class includes: Babysitting as a Business, Child Care Essentials, Preventing Problem Behavior, and Care of Choking Child/Infant. You will take a written exam and a test that demonstrates acceptable skills in care of a choking child. Fee includes: Safe Sitter student manual with completion card, LED flashlight, a drawstring backpack, and more.     221903 - Rec. Gym. Team

    The Recreational Team gives each child an opportunity to become part of a team. There are three team levels designated by the color of their workout leotard which is included with their registration. Returning students will only receive a new leotard when they advance to the next color level. Optional competitions will be held in January and May. Children are eligible to participate in these competitions after they have participated for eight weeks. Each meet season is 16 weeks long, divided into 2 eight week sessions; if your child begins class after 9 weeks then they are not eligible to participate in the competition for that season. It is highly recommended that you register for both 8-week sessions at one time. Current and returning students please register for a class that is convenient for you.     222100 - Inter-Village Soccer

    Registration will be accepted on first-come, first-serve basis on dates listed below. Efforts will be made to place registrants on a team. However once a team is filled, registrants will be placed on a wait list in an effort to create another team. Participants will be informed of team placement by their coach before the first week of practice.

    *Participants must register in the age division designated using birth year of the participant.

    Practices and Games
    Itasca Inter-Village Soccer plays in the Mid Suburban Soccer League other districts included are Addison, Bensenville, Bloomingdale, Glendale Heights, Medinah, Roselle, Villa Park and Wood Dale. Practices are once or twice per week with practice days and times at the discretion of the coach. Games will be played on Saturdays Sep 9-Oct 28.


    Uniforms
    All players must wear an Itasca Park District uniform. Uniforms must be purchased at the time of Registration. A sample of all sizes will be available at the registration desk. A complete uniform consists of a jersey, shorts, socks, shin guards and soccer shoes.

    Prices for uniforms and replacement pieces are as follows:

    Full uniforms.....$35 Shorts......$12
    Jersey.....$18 Socks......$ 5


    Equipment
    All participants are required to wear shin guards underneath their socks at all practices and games. Players must bring a soccer ball to practice each day.
    U6 will need to have a Size 3 ball; U8 & U10 will need to purchase a Size 4 ball, while U12 and U14 will need a Size 5 ball.

    Coaches
    The Itasca Park District Soccer League is extremely popular and has a large number of participants and teams. Without our fantastic volunteer coaches we would be unable to offer such a wonderful program. The park district is currently looking for parents or adults to volunteer as a coach or an assistant coach. Please indicate on your child’s registration form if you are interested in coaching.

    Coed Soccer League

    Fall soccer will be playing with a new format in accordance with the US Youth Soccer organization. Smaller fields and teams will allow for players to achieve the following: to touch the soccer ball more often which will enhance their individual technique and tactical development, receive more individual teaching time with their coach, receive more involved playing time in games, and most importantly to have more opportunities to score to enhance excitement. We'll learn about 10-12 different dances within a six week session to country, pop, rock, oldies, and current hits. Step sheets and video reviews are included so you'll remember what you learn.     Registration for garden plots will begin on Monday, Feb 19. One plot per household may be selected on a first-come basis for Park District residents only. The registration fee for residents is $10 per plot. There will be no charge for resident senior citizens.

    Residents may reserve additional plots after Monday, April 9. One additional plot per household may be reserved per week after April 17. Proof of residency, age, and picture I.D. will be required at the time of registration.

    Individuals who are not residents of the Itasca Park District may reserve a plot on or after Monday, April 16. The registration fee for non-residents will be $15/per plot.     Itasca Park District residents will receive priority registration from Jul 31-Aug 13. Non-residents may register beginning Aug 14. Join us for one of Itasca’s favorite events! We will meet at the Metra Train Station in Itasca and board the train for a fun-filled trip. Enjoy a story, chocolate milk, cookies, and a special visit from everyone’s favorite jolly old elf, Santa! The trip will take you from Itasca to Elgin and back. Each child will receive a special gift from Santa to remind them of their magical journey. Come dressed in your favorite Christmas PJ’s!
