    331600 - Teen Weight Training Class

    Teens 11-13 years of age may become a fitness member after completing a 2-hour Teen Weight Training Class. The class covers injury prevention, proper concentration of each muscle group, breathing , and lifting techniques. Proper warm-up and cardiovascular conditioning is also covered. Upon completion of this class, the teen will need to purchase their One-Year Fitness Membership to be an active Fitness Member. The fee for the membership is $67/$77.

    TRX is a great method of functional training for all fitness levels. Clients will use the suspension trainer and their own body weight to perform different exercises for all muscle groups controlling the intensity by adjusting their body position and angle. Increase total body strength and flexibility; and develop core stability. Classes are instructed by TRX Training certified staff. (BK)

    360401 - Walk to Run

    Looking for a way to get some exercise, have fun and fulfill your goal of participating in a 5K? Condition yourself to run three miles safely and effectively in this 10-week, walk-to-run program. Dr. Erin Ducat and her team at Ducat Chiropractic & Sports Medicine lead each session that includes educational workshops on proper stretching, shoes, equipment, heart rate monitoring and strengthening. Water is provided and pace leaders are CPR certified. Please wear comfortable clothing with athletic socks and shoes. Participants should be able to comfortably walk for 30 minutes before starting the program and upon completion will be able to run 3.1 miles and will receive discounted registration in the April Fool 5KRun on April 2nd Bloomingdale. In the event of inclement weather, we will be using the indoor track at the Itasca Park District. Residents of Itasca Park District, register at the Itasca Rec Center to receive the resident rate.
