    Do you love music, like to dance, but don't have a partner? Learn to line dance! Each dance is a pattern of steps that repeats throughout the song. We'll dance about 10-12 different dances within a six week session to country, pop, rock, oldies, and current hits. Step sheets and video reviews are included so you'll remember what you learn. We'll go dancing together so you can practice with all the fellow danceaholics you will meet! Dances will vary, so each session is unique. Please wear smooth-soled shoes. (KM)

    151002 - Salt Caves & Jolly Inn

    Join us on this unique and one of a kind day trip. First we'll go to the Galos Salt Caves where you will enjoy a relaxing 1 hour session. Salt-iodine caves have been shown to help with a variety of ailments including, respiratory issues, digestive issues, cardiovascular, and rheumatic diseases. In addition they can be helpful in treating stress. Once we finish in the Salt Caves we will head upstairs to the Jolly Inn Restaurant where you'll enjoy a buffet that has been a Polish staple of Chicagoland for over 30 years! Price includes transportation, admission to the Salt Caves, and buffet lunch at Jolly Inn. (KM)

    151003 - Botanical Gardens

    Join Itasca seniors as we enjoy all the beauty that the Chicago Botanical Gardens has to offer. We'll take a 2.3 mile narrated tour of the gardens where we will learn the history and science of the Garden while viewing highlights including the McDonald Woods, Elizabeth Hubert Malott Japanese Garden and the new Learning Campus. We'll also take a Bright Encounters Tram Tour of selected gardens. Relax as you explore the Heritage Garden, Waterfall Garden and more. Lunch is on your own in the Garden View Cafe. This trip does require a lot of walking, however, wheelchairs are available and nearly all areas of the Garden are accessible by wheelchair, as are the tram tours. (KM)

    We are heading to Rockford today to take in the beautiful Anderson Japanese Gardens. Anderson Japanese Gardens is an authentic Japanese Garden maintained by the highest standards. You'll enjoy the day strolling around the garden, taking in all its beauty. Take a rest under one of their many pagodas and allow the design of the gardens to inspire calm, renewal and discovery. Lunch will be on your own at Fresco at the Gardens or you may bring your own lunch and eat it at the Visitor Center. (KM)

    161200 - Community Wide Garage Sale

    Register with the Itasca Park District to participate in a community garage sale. This event offers Itasca residents the opportunity to host a garage sale at their homes. Each home registered will receive a garage sale kit including: an apron, signs, price stickers, and balloons. The sale will be advertised in the Daily Herald. Maps indicating the homes participating in the garage sale will be available at the Itasca Rec Center and Waterpark beginning Wednesday, June 21st. The garage sale hours will be from 8am-3pm. (KMc)

    Join the Itasca and Wood Dale seniors as we visit our Nation's Capital! This patriotic tour brings you to the locations where history is made and remembered. See famous sites like the Capitol Building, the World War II Memorial, and the White House. Get an up-close view of our country's best-loved memorials, including the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial and more! We will also take in the history of historic Mt. Vernon.
