    Softball Leagues will begin play the last week of April. All games are played at the Softball Complex on Rohlwing Road. Teams returning from the Summer 2016 season may register Monday, January 5 through Sunday, January 25 for the same league they played in the previous year. Beginning Monday, January 26 returning teams from Fall 2016 may register for any remaining openings. Open/new team registration will begin on Wednesday, February 11.

    142007 - Adult Golf Lessons

    Lessons will be provided by PGA Professionals at The Eaglewood Resort and Golf Club.

    Stage 1 This class offers novices and beginners an introduction to the fundamentals of the game of golf. Instruction will cover putting, chipping, the full swing and general golf course etiquette. Please bring a set of clubs with you each week. To reach that personal comfort level, this stage of instruction may be repeated as often as needed.

    Stage 2 This class is for students who have completed stage 1 or are confident that they have a good understanding of the fundamentals of the game. This class will focus on a review of the fundamentals, working on individual swing flaws, and simple golf course management. Please bring a set of clubs with you each week. (DF)

    Does your little one love basketball? This instructional program is perfect for him or her! Participants will learn fundamental skills, basic techniques, and improvement of motor skills required for the game of basketball. Players will use junior sized balls and 8-foot hoops to build confidence. Practices will take place on Fridays and games will take place on Saturday mornings at the Itasca, Medinah, or Wood Dale Park Districts.     412101 - U6 Micro Soccer

    Micro Soccer is a scaled-down version of the game of soccer specifically designed for young children. Children will play 3 vs. 3 on a smaller soccer field. Coaches are allowed on the field and no score is kept. This program is geared toward children who have mastered Pee Wee Soccer, yet are not old enough to join the Itasca Inter-Village Soccer League. Each team will practice a minimum of one day per week. Games will be played each Saturday with surrounding Park Districts. Players need to wear shin guards and bring a size three (3) ball to each practice and game. Please indicate on your registration form if you are interested in coaching. *Fee includes jersey. (DF)

    412123 - Hitting/Pitching/Catching Clin

    Prepare for the upcoming baseball and softball seasons. Swing analysis, live pitching and other techniques are a part of this program. The advanced, intermediate and beginner hitters can all benefit from this step-by-step approach to learning. Pitchers work on the form needed to increase the speed of the fastball and protect their throwing arm. Boys learn the rocker step for pitching as well as various age appropriate grips. Girls learn the windmill form of pitching and different grips. Catchers are taught how to help get strike calls for their team. Different techniques to throw out base runners are also included.     Important Registration Info:
    -Uniforms are NOT included in the registration fee!
    -Uniforms have to be ordered at the time of registration.
    -We are looking for both Head & Assistant Coaches – if interested, please indicate on registration form
    -Games will be held on weekends unless there are make-up games. Coaches will contact players for all dates.
    -Parents are responsible for transporting players to and from each game and practice.

    Registration will be accepted on first-come, first-serve basis on dates listed below. Efforts will be made to place registrants on a team. However once a team is filled, registrants will be placed on a wait list in an effort to create another team. Participants will be informed of team placement by their coach on or before Monday, March 25.

    *Participants must register in the age division designated by the birth year.

    Practices and Games
    Itasca Inter-Village Soccer plays in the Mid Suburban Soccer League other districts included are Addison, Bensenville, Bloomingdale, Glendale Heights, Medinah, Roselle, Villa Park and Wood Dale. Practices are once or twice per week with practice days and times at the discretion of the coach. Games will be played on Saturdays April 13-June 8. No games will be played on Memorial Day Weekend. Time and location of games will determined by league schedules which will be determined no later than Friday, April 12.

    Uniforms
    All players must wear an Itasca Park District uniform. Uniforms must be purchased at the time of Registration. A sample of all sizes will be available at the registration desk. A complete uniform consists of a jersey, shorts, socks, shin guards and soccer shoes.

    Prices for uniforms and replacement pieces are as follows:

    Full uniforms...$35 Shorts....$12

    Equipment
    All participants are required to wear shin guards underneath their socks at all practices and games. Players must bring a soccer ball to practice each day.
    U6 will need to have a Size 3 ball; U8 & U10 will need to purchase a Size 4 ball, while U12 and U14 will need a Size 5 ball.

    Coaches
    The Itasca Park District Soccer League is extremely popular and has a large number of participants and teams. Without our fantastic volunteer coaches we would be unable to offer such a wonderful program. The park district is currently looking for parents or adults to volunteer as a coach or an assistant coach. Please indicate on your child's registration form if you are interested in coaching.

    Co-ed Soccer League
    Each team will practice approximately one day a week and play a seven-game schedule.
    *No games will be played on Memorial Day Weekend

    Coed Soccer League

    Spring soccer will be playing with a new format in accordance with the US Youth Soccer organization. Smaller fields and teams will allow for players to achieve the following: to touch the soccer ball more often which will enhance their individual technique and tactical development, receive more individual teaching time with their coach, receive more involved playing time in games, and most importantly to have more opportunities to score to enhance excitement.

    Enjoy tennis and golf in this exciting class. Your child learns forehand and backhand strokes, proper grip, net play, court movement, and other beginning tennis techniques. Boys and girls receive golf swing instruction for all aspects of the game including full swing, pitching, chipping, and putting. Creative drills and games played in a non-competitive and safe environment make this a super-fun camp for young golfers and tennis players. Equipment will be provided. (DF)

    422150 - IBSL

    Itasca Baseball & Softball League. Registration will be accepted on first-come, first-serve basis on dates listed below. Efforts will be made to place registrants on a team. However once a team is filled, registrants will be placed on a wait list in an effort to create another team. Participants will be informed of team placement by their coach. Practices are once or twice per week with practice days and times at the discretion of the coach. No games will be played on Memorial Day Weekend. Time and location of games will determined by league schedules. (SD)

    462102 - Youth Tennis Lessons

    These lessons will use a skill-based approach to develop all aspects of an individual's tennis game. Innovative programs have been developed to accommodate a variety of ages, skill levels, and goals. Lake Park Head Tennis Coach Tim Martin will lead a staff of experienced coaches and players to improve athletes of all levels, ranging in skill from beginner to collegiate level.     462103 - Kids Karate Club

    This high energy program is specifically designed for children ages 4 through 14. Kids will learn the basics in karate, self-defense, sparring, and safety. Parents may participate with their children at no additional cost as part of our Parent Helper Program. Family involvement and respect are key elements, and children are encouraged and motivated to do their best in all aspects of their lives. Karate uniforms are required and are available from the instructor for $35.
